This month's "Career in the Spotlight" is featuring Interior Store Designers, who color outside of the lines to create designs that make our customers feel warm and welcome while improving store efficiencies for the store owners. They play an integral role in the designing of concepts for freestanding stores, downtown inlines, kiosk and carts, and coordinating their implementation.
Interior Store Designers are charged with the responsibility to review site conditions, design criteria or store plans to determine the design suitability for TDL criteria. There are design teams in our Oakville, Montreal, Debert and Calgary offices. Designers draw and sketch a variety of designs including space plans, elevations and signage for new stores and renovations of existing stores. They are also responsible for working with external consultants to ensure they provide accurate full working drawings that meet TDL building standards.
To be successful in this position, you must hold an Interior Design certificate or diploma from an accredited institution. Experience in space planning, rendering in retail or food industry is an asset. Our Interior Store Designers are self-starters with extensive knowledge of AutoCAD, 3-D rendering and MS Office software.
Our Interior Store Designers work directly with all areas of our business, including Purchasing, Marketing, Real Estate and Construction to name a few.
